We are a directory, not a party to your agreement
My Local Tree Service is a directory, lead marketplace, and information service. We help connect homeowners with tree-service professionals; we do not perform tree work, and we are not a contractor, subcontractor, broker, agent, employer, or representative of any tree-service professional. Any agreement, quote, contract, or transaction for tree work is solely between you and the tree-service professional. We are not a party to that agreement and have no responsibility for it.
No liability for work performed at your property
Because we are not a party to the work, we are not responsible or liable for anything a tree-service professional does or fails to do — including property damage, personal injury, the quality, safety, timeliness, or completion of the work, pricing disputes, licensing or insurance status, or the conduct of any professional or their crew at your residence. You engage tree-service professionals at your own risk and deal with them directly.
No warranty or endorsement; signals are informational
We do not warrant, guarantee, or endorse any tree-service professional listed in the directory. Listing information, verification badges, imported third-party ratings, and our Trust Score are informational signals only — they are not a guarantee of a professional's quality, licensing, insurance, safety, or fitness for your job, and they do not create any obligation or liability on our part. You should not rely on them as a substitute for your own evaluation.
Your due diligence
Before hiring a tree-service professional, you are responsible for doing your own due diligence. We strongly recommend that you independently confirm the professional's current license and insurance, obtain a written contract that describes the scope, price, and timeline of the work, and verify references. Do not rely solely on directory listings, badges, ratings, or the Trust Score when deciding whom to hire.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Local Tree Service and its owners, operators, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the platform or any interaction or transaction with a tree-service professional. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the platform will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Disclaimer of warranties
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any listing information is accurate, complete, or current.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless My Local Tree Service and its owners, operators, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your dealings, agreements, or disputes with any tree-service professional or other user.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes. You will not misuse the platform — including by submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent information; scraping or harvesting data; attempting to gain unauthorized access; interfering with the platform's operation or security; harassing or harming others; or using the platform to send spam or to solicit users for purposes unrelated to legitimate tree-service requests.
Reviews and content
If you submit a review, photo, or other content, you are responsible for it, you represent that it is truthful and that you have the right to submit it, and you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it in connection with the platform. We may moderate, edit for policy compliance, or remove content that is false, unlawful, infringing, or that violates these Terms or our content policies. Reviews must reflect genuine first-hand experiences.
Listings, ratings, and Trust Score create no liability
Directory listings, ranking and placement, imported third-party ratings, verification badges, and the Trust Score are provided for informational purposes to help users compare options. They are our editorial and algorithmic signals, are provided without warranty, and do not create any liability on our part — including for a professional's performance, your hiring decision, or the outcome of any work. We may change how these signals are calculated or displayed at any time.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You and My Local Tree Service waive any right to a jury trial and agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of any class or representative action.
